In recent years, Jieyang municipal party committee and government have been attaching great importance to the construction of industrial parks, promoting "industry concentrated to the parks, the parks concentrated to the towns". 20 industrial parks with distinctive regional characteristic, obvious innovative agglomeration effect and sound supporting industrial chains have been initially formed, possessing a good foundation for industrial development. Among them:
Dananhai Petrochemical Industrial Park: modern industrial system is formed preliminary in this area with petrochemical industry, electrical energy, equipment manufacturing and leisure travel as the principal part. The oil-refining project of Guangdong Petrochemical company invested 58.6 billion yuan jointly by China and Venezuela with the oil-refining capacity of 20 million tons is rushing to build up, which is the biggest industrial and Sino-foreign joint venture and cooperation project since the reform and opening-up policy was performed in Guangdong as well as the biggest heavy crude oil processing project in the world. The construction of it fills the gaps of national heavy weight class projects in the East Guangdong. China has located Huilai County as strategic energy base of CNPC in the South China, and has a plan of building up the oil refining project of Guangdong Petrochemical Company  invested by China and Venezuela jointly with the oil refining capacity of 40 million tons to establish the world class petrochemical oil refining base. This park consists of four parts: the first one is for petrochemical industry with the oil refining capacity of 20 million tons in the first phase and over 20 million tons in the future second phase, and the Yuedong LNG integration project of CNOOC with the investment of 10 billion yuan is also in overall construction phase; the second part is for electrical energy consisting of thermal power, wind electricity, pyroelectricity, 1~4 units of Huilai power plant invested 40 billion yuan have been constructed and put into operation;  the third part is for equipment manufacturing at port, and now 300-thousand- displacement freighter may be produced; the fourth part is for leisure travel.
Jiedong Economic Development Zone: Jiedong Economic Development Zone has introduced more than 170 companies from 15 countries and regions including the United States, Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. In December 1996, it was named "Guangdong Advanced Economic Development Experimental Zone"; in August 2001, it was jointly recommended as "Chinese outstanding development zone" by China International Trade Promotion Association, China Chamber of International Commerce, China Development Association. Currently, its industrial scale has reached over 50 billion RMB.
Sino-German Metal Eco-City: On the afternoon of February 24, 2013, Mr. Zhu Xiaodan, deputy secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee  and governor of Guangdong Province, met with Mr. Rudolf Scharping, the former chairman of the German Social Democratic Party and  RSBK Rudolf Scharping Strategic Consulting • AC •Co.
